Guide: Creating a Top-Down Flowchart
Use a Top-Down flowchart for a simple, vertical representation of a process. It's great for high-level overviews, procedures, or when you want to emphasize a downward flow of actions.
How to Use:

1. AI Assistant: Describe the sequence of events just as you would for a linear flowchart. The tool will arrange them vertically. Click 'Generate Diagram' and save your work when prompted.

2. Standard Setup: Add steps one by one. Use the '#' column to control the sequence. Steps with the same number will appear side-by-side in the same row.

3. Connections: Link steps using the 'Next Step' dropdowns. Arrows will generally flow downwards.

4. Editing Layout: The 'Edit Diagram' button allows you to freely move shapes.

5. Convert: Use the 'Convert Map' button to transform your top-down map into another format, like a Linear or Swimlane map.

6. Export to PDF: Use the 'Export as PDF' button to generate a professional, high-quality PDF document for sharing or printing.

7. Export to Word: Pro and AI Pro members can also use the 'Export as Word' button to get a text-based version of the flowchart.
Now that you know how it works, head to the dashboard to start building your own diagrams.
