Guide: Creating a Linear Flowchart

When to Use This Tool

Perfect for simple, sequential processes without distinct roles or departments. You can generate it with AI or build it manually.

How to Use:

Visual for step

1. AI Assistant: Describe the sequence of events. Use 'if/then' language for decisions (e.g., 'If the check is valid, then proceed...'). Click 'Generate Diagram' and save your work when prompted.

Visual for step

2. Standard Setup: Add steps one by one. Use the '#' column to control the sequence. Steps with the same number appear in the same vertical column.

3. Connections: Link steps using the 'Next Step' dropdowns. The diagram will automatically draw the arrows.

4. Editing Layout: The 'Edit Diagram' button allows you to freely move shapes. The underlying data (step number, connections) will not change.

5. Convert: Use the 'Convert Map' button to transform your linear map into another format, like a Hierarchical or Swimlane map.

6. Export to PDF: Once your diagram is ready, use the 'Export as PDF' button to generate a professional, high-quality PDF document for sharing or printing.

7. Export to Word: Pro and AI Pro members can also use the 'Export as Word' button to get a text-based version of the flowchart for easy inclusion in reports.
